A Time of Irrational Fear
We’re living in a time of great fear. One of the main reasons for our frightful state is that the major corporations of the world thrive on fearmongering. And this often leads to a situation where, ironically, we’re often captivated by irrational fear, while the real problem is totally neglected.
Who can forget the Y2K scare of the 1990s, when “experts” informed us how elevators would malfunction, airplanes would fall out of the sky, and nuclear reactors would have a meltdown on January 1, 2000? Well, that date came and went without any major disasters.
The Y2K scare was a relatively harmless type of fearmongering, but there are other, more recent examples, that are way more sinister than the Y2K scare. The problem with these scares is partly that they cause unnecessary fear and panic among the population, and partly that the real problems we face are not addressed. Three examples of this type of fear are:
The Global Warming Scare
For the past 50 years, “experts” have warned that we’ve got 10 years to prevent a global climate disaster from global warming. Masses of children and youth live with climate anxiety today, even though the evidence tells us that we’re farther away from a climate disaster than at any time in human history.
The truth is that cold weather kills far more people than heatwaves do. Heatwaves in countries like Spain or India always generate horrific media reports on the number of casualties from heat, but they never tell you the truth: That even in these relatively warm countries, five people die from cold for every person that dies from heat.
Likewise for climate disasters. The false climate prophets are continuously warning of the dangers of an increase in climate disasters, claiming that events like hurricanes and flooding are causing more deaths than ever. The opposite is true. The number of people dying from climate disasters is the lowest ever in all of human history. During the past 100 yeas, we’ve seen a 99% reduction in the number of deaths per capita from climate disasters.
Meanwhile, the real climate problems are totally neglected. It’s the prospect of global cooling which would be the most horrific climate change for mankind. During this century, the Ring of Fire has seen 17 megathrust earthquakes, three of which had a magnitude above 8.8. This apparently unprecedented frequency of megathrust earthquakes has caused unusual volcano activities. All it would take to cause massive global cooling – with ensuing global famine – would be one major volcanic eruption, like the 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora. And our corrupt politicians are doing nothing at all to prepare the world for global cooling.
The Covid Scare
March 2020 saw “experts” igniting and fanning a wildfire of covid panic all around the world. An Imperial College report predicted that, without a lockdown, 510,000 people would die of covid in the United Kingdom and 2.2 million in the United States within three months. Swedish “experts” extrapolated the Imperial College numbers to predict 100,000 covid deaths in Sweden without a lockdown.
Governments all around the world panicked. Inspired by the Chinese Communist Party’s lockdown of the Hubei Province, which in turn was modeled after political lockdowns of the Uyghur population, Western governments committed vast and numerous violations of human rights as they followed in the footsteps of the Communist Party by locking down their own populations, in a futile attempt at reducing transmission of an airborne virus.
Many of the tools used by the West to fight covid were either totally ineffective, or even counterproductive. Take face masks as an example. We now know that due to the Fögen effect, case mortality among face mask users is actually 85% higher than among infected people that breathe fresh air.
In a failed attempt at fighting covid, Western leaders have instead destroyed our societies, the results being weakened immune systems, a pandemic of mental health problems, an increase in murder and violent crimes, a lack of basic necessities, a lack of educated workers in many fields, food shortages, and – worst of all – that the world is on the brink of World War III.
The Putin Scare
And that brings us to the third scare. Western propaganda has portrayed Putin as a new Hitler, a monster and a madman who’s bent on invading and destroying his neighboring countries. And that’s the purported reason why countries like Ukraine, Finland, and Sweden have applied for NATO membership.
Once more, the panic totally ignored the real problems. The first problem is that NATO’s proxy-war with Russia have weakened our Far Eastern friends like Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan, while strengthening China and North Korea. The second problem is that it has brought the west onto a path towards a nuclear confrontation with Russia.
Western military “support” for the war in Ukraine, which will probably go down in history as the biggest disservice in human history, means that the conventional arms balance is leaning heavily in NATO’s favor. When the Russian military forces have been sufficiently weakened on the conventional side, when Russia is cornered with only nuclear weapons left unused, it follows that they’re bound to start using those nuclear weapons.
If Western propaganda about Putin being a monster and a madman is correct, there is nothing at all that we can do to stop him from turning our countries into nuclear wastelands. But if the portrayal is erroneous, it follows that we’re heading towards a nuclear confrontation for no reason at all.
The Real Scare
But as horrible as global cooling, lockdowns, and the possibility of nuclear confrontations are, the real scare is yet to come.
The Bible informs us that God is a compassionate and loving God, who has great empathy with suffering people. There will come a time when God will rise up and be a shepherd for his sheep: “ As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day,” God says.
At the same time, God leaves no room for arrogance, pride, hatred, hypocrisy, or any sin of the heart. Instead of love and compassion, people with a hardened heart will, unfortunately, face the wrath of God.
I believe that biblical prophecies are clear that, very soon, be in a place where mighty people will – figuratively speaking – hide in caves and say to the mountains, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Ultimately, we will all learn to fear God, one way or the other.
